Enspiral began as a freelance collective with a group of people (predominantly computer coders) who wanted to work on projects that could create a positive impact. Today it is a vibrant community of 40+ businesses and has given birth to the likes of Dev Academy, Loomio, Cobudget and Scoop.

“Enspiral is the perfect place to meet the future co-founders of new business” stated Joshua Vial during the workshop.

Avoiding hierarchies is at the heart of the organisation, and professionals are called upon to only take part in projects that make a significant difference and that they individually are passionate about.

It is completely empowering and, via this design, the “high trust environment” becomes natural. The network’s philosophy of working on what matters to each individual increases self responsibility and creates a space of wanting success for all. It also allows a quicker transfer of information mitigating potential loss of data via chains of communication.

Dev Academy is an example of a collaborative project born from the Enspiral Model. Since it’s inception in 2015, Dev Academy has assisted 48 start-ups and business owners understand and develop the web and digital systems they need to succeed. Via this platform the results are achieved at a fraction of the costs if those businesses were to go elsewhere plus they have the ongoing connection with the Dev Academy and Enspiral community.

The workshop in December was enjoyed by a cross section of the Queensland business community in industries ranging from farming to health and coaching to marketing.

“The Enspiral way of doing business is thought provoking. Most of us have grown up working in a hierarchal environment where projects are designated by tasks and the standard pay cheque comes week to week. They are turning this on it´s head to encourage bigger picture thinking and further opportunities simply by collaborating and forging a deep trust with co-workers”
