CEO Downtown Project
Mark Rowland is the CEO of DTP Ventures, a new division within Downtown Project created to oversee and run the organization’s owned and operated entities, including VegasTechFund and Downtown Project’s small business investment fund. Rowland’s passion in life is to be happy and strive for self-‐actualization for both himself and the people he comes into contact with. He believes “work” is a fantastic platform by which to change the world, and has always tried to bring passion and purpose to the roles he has held throughout his career.
In November 2013, Rowland founded ROCeteer, a Las Vegas-‐based company that works with entrepreneurial ecosystems to unleash the potential within them to transcend awesome. Rowland continues to serve as ROCeteer’s CEO, which provides coaching, training, consulting and mentoring services to Downtown Project’s investment ecosystem.
Rowland also holds a role as Cheer Leader with Delivering Happiness, a company that brings happiness to the corporate world through the Happiness at Work survey, workshops, partner program, culture consulting, and coaching. Using the science of happiness and the experience of Zappos, Delivering Happiness puts happiness to work to create more engaged, productive and profitable workplaces.
Prior to joining Delivering Happiness, Rowland was the Chief Actualizer for Corporate Actualization, providing a range of coaching, mentoring, facilitation and learning and development services. He was also the Chief Happiness Officer for Styletread, an online footwear company he cofounded with three friends in Sydney, Australia.
Before starting his own companies, Rowland was the Chief Executive Noodle of the Australian licensee of Wagamama, a popular restaurant chain. Before that, he worked for Coles Myer, and before that, PwC.
