Curator at Gold Coast City Art Gallery

Virginia Rigney is Senior Curator at Gold Coast City Gallery where she has worked since 2003 on a variety of exhibition and event projects – many of which seek to draw out the cultural history and contemporary visual character of the Gold Coast.

She has also curated a number of exhibitions dealing with Indigenous arts and culture including the award winning Kuru Alala Eyes Open with Tjanpi Dessert Weavers and with Michael Aird she co-curated Saltwater country on the work of 16 Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Artists which is touring nationally and internationally from 2014 – 2017 .
